Partnerships Discussed at White House Summit to Increase Workforce Readiness, College Completion Rates
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 5, 2010) – Corporate Voices for Working Families has released a new report highlighting the imperative for partnerships between community colleges and employers to enhance workforce readiness skills and increase U.S. college completion rates.
Steve Wing and Corporate Voices are featured in a June 14 business section profile story -- "New at the top" -- in The Washington Post. Currently Director of Workforce Initiatives for CVS Caremark, Steve will join Corporate Voices September 1 as President.
A little-known amendment on workplace lactation sponsored by Senator Jeff Merkley became law with the passage of health care reform by Congress in March 2010. Since then, there have been a trickle of articles discussing the new federal requirement, what it means for the business community, and why workplace lactation has been such an obstacle for new mothers.
