Five Pillars of Work

Afterschool Care and Early Childhood Education: Corporate Voices for Working Families is committed to policy initiatives that address high quality learning opportunities in early childhood education and afterschool, knowing that an investment in our children plays a critical role in improving young people's chances of success both in school and life.

Youth Transitions: Young people ages 14-21 have a unique set of needs and represent the promise of the future. Corporate Voices is committed to identifying and promoting the corporate and public policies necessary to ensure that young people have the opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in work and in life.

Mature Workforce: The needs of the mature workforce are becoming apparent as the workforce demographics shift. Also, many employees are faced with caring for aging members of their extended family. Corporate Voices for Working Families is committed to help address these issues.

Flexibility: Workplace flexibility across the board - for wage and hourly, professional, and managerial employees - is a key management tool with quantifiable bottom-line impacts. Corporate Voices is committed to assessing the impact of this management tool as it relates to business and management strategy, and stress and the well being of workers and their families.

Lower Wage Work: The purpose of the Family Economic Stability body of work is to provide information on and access to workforce policies and programs that provide support to workers earning $10 an hour or less. These additional supports encompass programs made available through the private sector and the public sector policy. In addition to increasing family stability such supports increase worker productivity, build assets and increase job opportunities.
